SUBJECT: CONSEC SEABEE PROGRAM, BEIRUT

1. SINCE THE FIRE OF AUGUST 1, 1975, AT THE NEW CHANCERY
SITE, THE CONSEC TEAM HAS BEEN PROVIDING SURVEILLANCE OF
NON-SENSITIVE AREAS OF CONSTRUCTION ON THE GROUND THROUGH
THIRD FLOORS. IT IS NOW ESTIMATED THAT CONSTRUCTION OF
SENSITIVE FLOORS 4, 5, 6 AND PENTHOUSE WILL NOT COMMENCE
FOR AT LEAST EIGHT WEEKS.

2. IT HAS BEEN RECOMMENDED AND APPROVED BY THE POST THAT
OUR ONE REMAINING CONSEC SEABEE, BU-1 DAVID A. PEARSON, BE
RELEASED FOR TEMPORARY TDY AT OTHER POSTS WHICH

ARE IN NEED OF HIS SERVICES.

3. SY WILL BE KEPT ADVISED AS TO PROGRESS OF THE CONCRETE
DEMOLITION PROGRAM OF AREAS DAMAGED BY FIRE AND ESTIMATED
RETURN NEED OF CONSEC SEABEE SUPPORT.
